Clare Brienza

As well as being an illustrator, I am also currently working in a school as a learning support assistant for special needs children. This provides me with an excellent opportunity to keep up to date with current trends in illustration, as well as having the joy of working with children, who provide huge inspirtation to me every day. I particularly enjoy art lessons with the children, and on special 'book' days at school, I take a selection of my books and artwork to show the younger children, which is always fun and rewarding.

I am also a Mum myself, with three kids aged 14 and 16 and a three month old baby! Often my characters are based on my own kids as they have been growing up.

Prior to returning to University to study Graphics and Illustration as a mature student, I worked for 16 years as a Registered Nurse. I feel very fortunate to have led an interesting life, which has allowed me to meet a whole array of fascinating people, all of which has been greatly inspirational to my work.

My main interest is illustrating picture books and educational books for children, but I am always open to suggestion and willing to discuss any illustration projects that you may feel I can help you with. Please do not hesitate to contact me!
